(You are) the Captain of the Ship

I absolutely love the challenge of writing to order ~ and 'The Captain' song was recently included as the theme to the St Leonard's Holiday Club held in April 2007.

Great week of evangelical space-themed events for children including an evening show for the adults.

The Matthew Finnish Cabaret Show, kicked off by MC Dave, included lots of hits, verbal and a few home truths aimed at making you think.

Looking forward to next year . . .

Album launch of Almost Covered

Matt's new album, renamed 'Almost Covered' was released on March 2nd 2006. The second solo album in the Matfin Music catalogue (well we are still an independent), this album is a result of many requests received vie email or a gigs.

Of the 12 tracks ten are requests from fans and the other two, The Cross and Stand Beside Me will also appear on a 4-track EP to be released in the summer of '06 (no not '69).

You can get them a gigs or HERE

Stuff

I have changed the look of the show recently with some additional lighting and staging effects. Included in these changes are some audio effects which run to open the show. The audio is synchronised with the lighting and so when the track runs the lights accentuate the music.

Recently I left the master volumes on the desk a little high and when the opening track played synchronised to the lighting it was a little LOUD to say the least (bear in mind the PA is 2.5K and could take out a window or two if pointed in the right direction).

The result of the little oversight was

(1) woman screamed 'we've been bombed' as she slipped inelegantly from her stool to the floor followed by her man who was trying to save her;

(2) a good number of spilled drinks as the arms of those holding pints reacted in a jerking movements upwards (in an effort to save themselves)

(3) uncontrollable laughter from the artist who was unable to sing properly for at least 2 minutes after the initial shockwave and continued to have unprofessional flashbacks throughout the evening . . .

New acoustic album?

The signs are good, from feedback that we have received, that you think an acoustic album is a good idea ~ watch this space.
